In den vergangenen Stunden hat sich einiges in Sachen Apples Finanzen getan. So hat man nicht nur angekündigt knapp 250 Milliarden US-Dollar seiner in Übersee lagernden Bargeldreserven in die USA zurückzuholen, man wird darüber hinaus auch seinen Mitarbeitern jeweils ein Aktienpaket in Höhe von 2.500,- US-Dollar zukommen lassen. Inzwischen haben die Kollegen von Axios die originale E-Mail von Tim Cook in die Finger bekommen, die dieser an sein Team gesendet hat, um die Neuigkeiten anzukündigen. Daraus gehen noch diverse weitere interessante Neuigkeiten hervor, die so vorher noch nicht bekannt waren.
So wird Apple sein ohnehin schon beachtliches wohltätiges Engagement weiter steigern. Über das gesamte Jahr 2018 hinweg wird man so sämtliche Beträge, die Apple-Mitarbeiter für wohltätige Zwecke spenden im Verhältnis zwei zu eins aufwiegen. Dies gilt für alle Spenden bis zu einer Höhe von 10.000,- US-Dollar. Darüber hinaus wird auch die Zeit, die Mitarbeiter für wohltätige Zwecke aufwenden von dem Unternehmen entsprechend gewürdigt.
Darüber hinaus wird Apple laut CEO Tim Cook auch weiter seine Bemühungen verstärken, Schülern und Studenten, aber auch den eigenen Mitarbeitern das Schreiben von Programmcode zu vermitteln. Im Anschluss die E-Mail von Tim Cook im Wortlaut:

I’m happy to announce that starting immediately and running through the end of 2018, Apple will match all employee charitable donations, up to $10,000 annually, at a rate of two to one. In addition, Apple will double the amount we match for each hour you donate your time. Last year, your generosity helped people around the world through causes that are important to you. I’m proud that this year we’ll be able to build on that tradition of giving.
